    VW Clean Diesel Funding for Switcher Locomotives 12/12/2018 This webinar will give an overview of the $2.9 billion of VW Clean Diesel Funding available for lowering switcher locomotive diesel emissions.  This new source of funding is accessible for all ASLRRA railroad members as the VW funding was allocated to every US state, Washington DC, Indian Tribes and Puerto Rico.  Topics will include what is the VW settlement, eligible actions to receive VW funding, a state by state update and making the case for allocating the funds for switcher locomotive emission reductions.  There will be a question and answer session for you to ask your questions live.     Railroad Retirement: What We've Learned, the Hard Way 12/18/2018 Join Bowers & Company CPAs staff as we discuss Railroad Retirement from a process and procedure standpoint, and also the common mistakes and issues we’ve seen.  What entities qualify for this system and how do they become certified?  How long will it take a new entity to be approved? Once approved, what are the reporting and filing requirements and timeframes?  Will your payroll company always be able to understand and handle required deductions?   Pitfalls with non-standard payroll runs and communication with the RRB.  Lastly, the basics such as understanding required forms and how they all tie together.  At the conclusion of this session you will have a better understanding of what you need to do, and who you can contact when you have questions.  Registered attendees will have an opportunity to participate in Q&A at the end of the webinar.
