ASLRRA provides the framework and support for our members to ensure compliance. ASLRRA’s elite staff of industry experts provides representation in Congress and in the regulatory agencies to ensure our voices are heard, and our achievements recognized. A key resource for all short line and regional railroad entities is the Short Line Safety Institute (SLSI). SLSI and its programs support the short line and regional railroad industry’s goal of performing at an increasingly higher level of safety by encouraging a focus on safety culture.

Wabtec to Provide a PTC Multi-Tenant Hosted Solution to ASLRRA Member Short Lines

WASHINGTON, November 8, 2018 – The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) has entered into an agreement with Wabtec Railway Electronics, Inc. (Wabtec) to provide Positive Train Control (PTC) support to its members via the WabtecCloud Multi-Tenant Back Office (MTBO) solution.

Rockwell Collins Chosen to Provide PTC Safety Documentation Support to Short Line Railroads

WASHINGTON, October 8, 2018 – The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) has taken the next step in their plan to provide a suite of services for short line railroads equipping for Positive Train Control (PTC) by selecting Rockwell Collins to assist tenant short lines in the creation of safety-related documentation required to obtain permission to operate over a host’s PTC territory.

ASLRRA Releases Economic Impact Report

WASHINGTON – July 26, 2018 – The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) today released an economic impact report, prepared by the professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC). Analysis in the report demonstrates that the short line industry, although small by some definitions, is mighty in its contributions to the U.S. economy.
