ASLRRA has partnered with The Indiana Rail Road Company (INRD) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to offer a Locomotive and Car Compliance Training Seminar for short line railroads. Intended for short line railroad Chief Mechanical Officers, Shop Foremen, and Inspectors, this three-day training seminar will include 2 ½ days of classroom and one half day of hands-on field training covering compliance requirements of locomotives and railcars. FRA subject matter experts will review CFR Parts 215, 229 and 232 from a mechanical employee’s perspective and discuss common defects found throughout the industry and recommended actions for compliance. Attendees will have an opportunity to engage in open discussions with industry peers and subject matter experts who will be available to answer questions and remove any confusion regarding compliance.

Note: Attendees must wear PPE for hands-on field training.

Important Details:

The Indiana Rail Road Company training center is located two miles from the Hilton Garden Inn downtown Indianapolis. Parking is extremely limited and attendees are encouraged to use taxis, Uber or Lift to arrive on site.

Registration includes three full days of training with daily lunch and refreshment breaks provided in the meeting area at The Indiana Rail Road Company; daily breakfast is included in the hotel sleeping room rate and provided in hotel dining room. Classroom and hands-on field training will take place at The Indiana Rail Road Company, located at 1500 S Senate Avenue in Indianapolis, IN. Attendees should plan to spend three full days in training, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Recommended travel days for attendees are Monday, November 16, and Friday, November 20. *Attendees must wear PPE for hands-on field training (safety shoes, vest, and protective eyewear).

*Please register early; this training fills quickly! Space is limited to the first 25 registered attendees. Once the class is full we will maintain a waiting list and register additional attendees in the event of cancellations.

ASLRRA Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations made 30 or more days before training will receive a full refund; no refunds will be given if cancellation is made within the 30-day window.

Hotel Sleeping Rooms:

A block of rooms has been set aside and training will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 10 East Market Street, Indianapolis, IN. A booking link will be made available soon.

Travel:

Indianapolis is served by the Indianapolis International Airport (IND), and passengers may access ground transportation via taxi, ride share apps, and rental cars on site. The Hilton Garden Inn is located in downtown Indianapolis, approximately 14 miles from the airport.
